The Fowler Family Fund is an enthusiastic supporter to the Pacific Northwest nonprofit community. Since 2007, our invitation-only family fund supports grant and in-kind requests twice annually and has distributed a modest $285,326 over its lifespan (as of June 18, 2025).

In 2007, Amber Fowler, our founder launched the modestly self-funded The Fowler Family Fund (The Fund). Inspired by the leadership opportunity and accompanying experiences from serving as the Administrator to the Spirit Mountain Community Fund, The Fund supports a variety of Oregon and Washington nonprofit organizations focusing upon its 5 Pillars of Giving: animal welfare, self-sufficiency, lgbtqia+ communities, sustainability, and financial literacy.

OUR LOGO

Miss. Millie

The inspiration of The Fund’s logo comes from Amber’s volunteer service to Homeward Pet Adoption Center (HPAC). It was on May 27, 2012 at exactly 10:03 am that Amber met her future canine bestie: Miss. Millie a then-2-year-old Chihuahua Dachshund mix had once roamed “the means streets of Yakima, WA” prior to arriving at HPAC. Just 2 weeks later, her attempt to foster Millie was a complete failure; in less than 72 hours after bringing her home, Amber adopted Millie. Soon after, Amber turned her work office into a dog-friendly space, and took Millie with her wherever she traveled until her unexpected passing in early December 2019.

“Millie changed my life in ways unimaginable, as did my volunteer work with HPAC. I respect and admire everyone there for their selfless contributions to improving the lives of the animals along with their prospective human parents.”
